"Memories of Kreisau and the German Resistance" is a personal account by Freya von Moltke, who was a member of the Kreisau Circle, a German resistance group involved in the failed attempt to assassinate Hitler on July 20, 1944. Freya’s husband, Helmuth von Moltke, co-founded the circle and was executed after the assassination attempt. In her memoir, Freya recounts both personal experiences and significant historical events. She details the resistance activities conducted during the circle's meetings, as well as the final days of Kreisau after many members were executed for their roles in the failed assassination plot. Following the end of the war in 1945, Freya was evacuated from Kreisau, and the von Moltke estate was handed over to Poland.
